1934 Studebaker Dictator
This First page shows acurrent project, a 1934 Studebaker Dictator.  The car will have all of the modern convieniences such as air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, full power leather seats, and an ample stereo. The motor and transmission are an LT-1 setup from a 1994 Caprice Police car.  Front suspension is a Fatmans Fabrication mustang II power setup. The rear end is a rebuilt Jaguar XJ-6 unit. Oh yeah....the wallpaper is two pictures of the nice straight original car before the process was started by my friend Barry Auman who I bought the car from
This first group of pictures shows some of the work that has been done to this point. If you notice the rear of the roof has been angled to allow the lines to flow a little better when looking from the side. The quarter windows have also been closed off to help enhance the overall look. The sides of the roof have been re-contoured to make for a lower roof look without actually chopping the roof. The center section of the roof has also been filled with smooth metal.
In this group of pictures you can see that the body was stripped down to the bare metal after all of the major bodywork was done. You can also see that the frame has been boxed and the Jaguar rear has been installed. The front suspension consists of of Fatman fabrications mustang II front cross member with new 11 rotors and new calibers.  The car is in the build up stage where everything is being fitted for proper clearances and to make sure I'm happy with the location. Once this is all completed, the car will be completely exploded to do all of the paint work.
Well It's time for some updates, so here they are.  In the new pics you can see that I've started the painting process. The frame is done...painted plumbed and the motor sitting in. The body is in process now and hope to have everything together and on the road by spring of 2003.  The interior won't be done yet, but I want to start puting some miles on it.
Final update on this one.........as happens with some many things in life, you think you know what your doing and then one day life says...."nope not any more".
Unfortunately this car became a victim of a divorce.  This one and a coupel of others on these pages have had to move down the road to clear the way for a fresh start in life.  This car did how ever start a love affair with the Studebaker name plate, and once everything gets settled I will look for another Studebaker to play with and redo
