| On this page is my 1967 Nova. This is the fifth car I've owned of this body style (remember in the opening page my first car was a '66 Nova). This car is my "baby"...my ex wife used to joke that when I died she was just going to have me stuffed and mounted in this car. I remembered this car from my youth...then several years later it showed up in a gas station I was working at with a new owner. I told her the story of my youth and said if she ever wanted to sell the car to please call me. Fast forward 5 years, and I'm out driving with my then wife, and there is the Nova sitting , or should I say sinking in a yard with a smashed front end. I had to stop and see if it was for sale...luck would have it the husband bounced it off a guard rail so he wanted it gone (a bad memory I guess), but I had to talk to his wife about the price. Turns out it was the same woman I talked to at the gas station, and she remembered me. She really loved the car and didn't want to sell it, but knew it wasn't going to get fixed, so a deal was struck. After all of those years, about the only thing that had any sort of serious rust was the exhaust system...floors, rocker panels, and trunk were all solid...even the original interior was solid and not all ripped up. Follow along with the progress of this car over the last 8 years. |
