1959 Chevy Apache Pickup
This is an Apache pickup that was built with the same mind set as the '39 Plymouth.  To drive and have fun....so what if it's ugly!
Like I said above, this truck is pretty damn ugly, but I built it to drive and have fun with.  The front frame is a 1977 Camaro subframe and the rear is out of an S-10 pickup.  The motor is a 1964 327 that according to the books is from an Impala station wagon.  The transmission is a turbo 400 from an '84 Suburban, and the driveshaft is a "D.R. Gaumer Welding & Fabrication" shortened special.
When I got the truck, all I really got (besides screwed on the deal) was a rusted out piece of crap.  I had to get another frame (thanks Kermit) and another cab and doors.  I hate to whine about how I was taken so badly on the original deal, but I was taken and can promise that I will never deal with that individual again. BUT it did "inspire" me to make sure I got the truck on the road.

All of the pictures here except for the top one, are of it under construction.  The one at the top of the page was taken at Bloomsburg, PA during the Rod & Custom Magazine Americruise East event (hotrodhotline.com has more coverage).  It was the maiden voyage for the truck.  My brother in law Donnie helped with the wiring on the truck (OK he did about all of it) and he accompanied me to the event.  We had a few "bugs" to work out, but we made the show.

As of January 2004 it is up on jackstands while I'm doing some body work to get it ready for paint.  The body will (more then likely) be black "swede" with a pearl white roof and front bumper and grill.  More pics will be added after I get some color on it.
